TOEFL Listening Comprehension Sample Questions about Long Discussion
Setelah sebelumnya belajar tentang listening comprehension soal tes TOEFL ITP dalam bentuk percakapan atau diskusi singkat, kali ini kita akan membahas soal-soal long discussions atau percakapan yang lebih panjang.
Biasanya percakapan meliputi subjek akademis dengan salah satu speakernya adalah guru atau dosen. Lalu murid akan merespon atau bertanya.
Di akhir percakapan, kamu akan diberi pertanyaan terkait dengan diskusi panjang yang telah diputar. Ingat, tidak ada pengulangan sehingga kamu perlu menjaga fokus agar mampu menjawab dengan tepat.
Kenali aksen speakers yang bicara agar kamu tetap bisa on track dengan apa yang dibicarakan. Langsung saja kita mulai, ya!
Percakapan di bawah ini melibatkan seorang pria dan wanita tentang genre film favorit mereka.
Woman: “What is your favorite movie genre?”
Man: “Thriller. Definitely. I love all the twists and turns and the suspense. Like Silence of the Lambs. I love that. Actually anything with a serial killer I love.”
Woman: “Should I be worried?”
Man: “Not just yet.”
Woman: “Well you should be worried about my favorite kind.”
Man: “Which is?”
Woman: “Horror, the gorier the better!”
Man: “Really, like gruesome brain slush horror?”
Woman: “Yep, I love zombies. And anything with ghosts or exorcism, I am fascinated with the exorcism genre.”
Man: “Right… I didn’t know that was a genre in and of itself.”
Woman: “Oh yeah! There are lots of exorcism movies. I think it is the blend of error with religious content and biblical referencing that I like. It is so disturbing, even though I do not believe in God.

Man: “Yes, we need food with a long shelf life.”
Woman: “Well, you know what… we had an overage order two weeks ago and the supplier will not recollect it and we actually do not have the space to store it! So I can offer you some rice, and about 100 tons of coconut milk. The rice is in individual bags by the way so it can be dished out to individuals.”
Man : “That is great, thank you very much. Can I have get your name?”

Pertanyaan ini meminta kamu memprediksi apa yang akan dilakukan speaker perempuan usai percakapan berakhir. Sesuai dengan hal terakhir yang dibicarakan, maka pihaknya akan memberi nomor kontak atau (D).
